Just reporting in on this fine Monday morning. The last few weeks have been hectic preparing for our "Imagine 2.0" event last weekend - which was fabulous by-the-way. We also received 3 big orders. Love, love all the new stuff. The pictures will tell the tale.
I hope to have the May class schedule on the website by tomorrow. Don't miss out! New classes available will be "FAMILY" wooden letters, "CREATE" wooden letters, a jewelry class, something new from Lynn and we'll see what Susan comes up with to surprise you!
Lynn's Shabby Chic "Bootcamp" is a big hit. We are taking sign-ups for the fall session of the "Shabby Chic 7" layout/album classes. You do 1 layout a week for 20 weeks (Christmas hiatus) and then build the album to put your layouts in. This past session we had an extra class to decorate your album covers - they turned out fabulous!
Susan has her "Mixed Media" class underway as well. This type of creativeness is super hot in the industry right now. There are so many new products available to work with. Watch for the "Gelli Arts Printing Plate" to be arriving at the store. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7n_RwPAkhw
Project Life monthly class is underway. Quick and easy way to get it together.
Kid's Summer Camp will be July 15-18. This is the wooden letter camp. The kids pick the letters that they want to do and you pay for each letter and a base fee for the camp.
"The Scrap Yard" will have a presence in Okotoks soon. Stay tuned.
I created a survey that I would invite you to take. I want to know what type of off-site events you guys are looking for. Please indulge me :)
Explore your creative side this Spring in this new Mixed Media Album Class with Susan! It will run on alternate Tuesday evenings beginning on April 16, 6-9pm. I am also opening a morning class alternate Thursdays beginning on April 18, 10-1. The class will run until June 27. We will be experimenting with different mediums to create fun texture and colour.
I hope you will join me on this creative journey! For more information on this class contact The Scrap Yard at 403-271-2225. There are only a few spots left!

a great fun, no pressure type of layout class. Sign up today. This class also requires a commitment to 12 classes - not a drop in class. this is a great beginner class. The January layout is shown below.
A bunch of us are heading to "Farm Chicks" in Spokane again in June. It is a gathering of vintage vendors peddling their wares at the fair grounds. It happens the first weekend in June. This year we will be looking for things to alter in classes. Lynn thinks that an old window could be done up nicely in shabby style. I already have 6 vintage printer drawers from last year - need a few more. Pails, milk bottles, sewing machine drawers, crates, suitcases - FUN, fun, fun! http://www.thefarmchicks.com/show.html
Welcome to the last week of January - if we can get through this month it seems we can tolerate the rest of the winter. We are expecting some orders this week - yeehaw! Time to freshen up the place.
Valentines Day is our next holiday and we have 2 projects lined up. Susan is doing a 3"x3" chipboard 3D cube in mixed media that holds a mini album. Re-cap 2012 with this cute little project. It is scheduled for Jan 8 @ 6 PM.
"Amour" mini album by Pink Paislee is also a cute Valentines' keepsake. It is scheduled for Jan 6 @ 6 PM.
Susan has also created a seasonal series class that starts with "Snow Days". Each season you will do a mini album showcasing your favorite memories. The last class will be dedicated to creating a mixed media sleeve to house them all in. Class is scheduled for Jan 31 @ 6 PM.
Stay tuned for more ideas and "sharesies". (BTW - anything is a word in scrapbooking!)
