Charm Exchange at Retreat

Hey Bloggerettes,

Just a reminder that we will be doing a charm exchange at the retreat again. I observed the charm exchange at the Teresa Collins Event in September and I figured out how it works. You will handover all of your charms to me and I do the exchanging and give you back as many as you made. I saw one lady wore them on a link necklace - it was aboiut 500 pounds! How charming.

Simple Stories
Tim Holtz
Viva Decor
Graphic 45
Cinch Machine
Fab Scraps
Little Yellow Bicycle

Tons of embellishments

Met a ton of new scrapbookers at the Okotoks Scrapbook Convention on Saturday. They did very well for the "Rowan House" fund raiser. It was a pleasure to be part of such a heartfelt event. Thanks to Shannon and Annalisa for inviting me to participate. Scrapbookers from towns south of Calgary have been introduced to the "The Scrap Yard" - YEAH! Thanks to Lynn Thune for teaching and donating her valuable time to such a worthwhile cause. You're the best! Take a breath now!

"The Scrap Yard" would like to welcome a new teacher. Erika Taylor has offered to share her talents by teaching some cardmaking classes. Here is the scoop on Erika:

Hi Everyone, I'm Erika Taylor and I'm over the moon to be working with The Scrap Yard. I've got a smokin husband named Mark, who is my biggest supporter and fan and we have two zany and wild children. One precious and precocious little girl and a young boy who is full of ideas, and creativity. I've been paper crafting since September of 2008, but you could always find me with scissors, glue, crayons and construction paper when I was a little girl. I've got a big personality and love to make people giggle, either with me or at me. I'm a bit of a magpie and gravitate to sparkle and shine.

I have been so blessed to be a part of many different design teams. Currently I am on the Tattered Angels, Nikki Sivils, Basically Bare, Helmar, Scrapping Cottage, I Brake for Stamps and Paper Temptress teams. Creatively, I love trying new things and revel in new techniques, tools and supplies. I am very eclectic in my style and sometimes look from one project to the next and think "Did I make both of those? Inspiration comes from so many venues and I'm tickled pink that I get to share my creative journey with all of you.
Come on by my blog at http://taylordconcepts.blogspot.com and take a look. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and leave some love.

Welcome Erika :)

What's new Pussycat??????

Hey Bloggerettes,
Long time no chat...............
I went to the Teresa Collins "Inspiration Unlimited" 4th annual event in Vegas last weekend. Lots of classes, casino-going, pool-time, shopping, Thai Crunch Salad (2x), hob-knobbing with the big name scrapbookers. Yeah, I love this trip.
We received mega product yesterday and today - it will probably take days to get it all in the computer. I think it was 630 pounds!!! Everyday you will see new stuff.

It's my party..............

Hey Bloggerettes,
How many "Crave" cupcakes are too many to eat on your birthday???? I have been totally spoiled today with such decadence. Thanks to my "peeps"!
"Hug Snug" seam binding is all the rage right now. I have 6 colors in stock right now. You can buy it by the yard for a mere 49 cents. It is easy to dye with Color Wash or any other permanent coloring - even Jello. Starch it and crumple it and it is fabulous!
Did you happen to see the article in the Herald "Neighbours" section that referenced "The Scrap Yard"? Way cool. I did a telephone interview with the writer.
"Shabby Chic" starts on Monday - can hardly wait. The September classes are posted on the website calendar. Check it out.

Sunshine and lollipops!

Hey Bloggeresttes,

Long time no post - summers are like that!

There are a few things to share -

  • Congrats to Susan Tutt for being published again. The cigar box mini album is going to be in the next vintage mini album publication of "Scrapbook Trends". SWEET!!!!
  • Thanks to Lynn for teaching a Photoshop class to the avid Shabby Chic girls and Wendy from Three Hills.
  • CHA is over now. Tons of new product to search on the internet. "Lori-add-to-cart" (one of my many pseudonums) had a cart over $30K. Have to trim that back! A wee bit excessive.
  • Mr. Tim has great new stuff coming out - get your pre-orders in!
  • The Nakoda Retreat is on again (Nov 4-6) $315/double occupancy.

Thanks for lookin'

Where oh where..............

New product is being released at CHA Summer

Hey Bloggerettes,

I have been getting lots of pre-views of the new products that are showcasing at CHA Summer in Chicago. Wanna see some new Basic Grey????

The "Out Of Print" arrived today as well as some of the "Smash" product, huge Tim Holtz re-stock , new Helmar adhesives, western items, Sew Easy handles, a few La Blanche stamps, Crafter's Workshop stencils (6x6 numbers, tree branch and bricks), more Disney stuff.............

I want to invite everyone to join The Scrap Yard in doing a tribute to Breast Cancer surviviors by decorating a bra to the extreme and let us hang it from the rafters. This tribute will continue throughout the month of July. Show us what you've got - so to speak!!!

The fabulous gold ornate frame (24x36) with all of the tags pinned onto the red silk background, that you have ogled for months, is now a class. I am holding 3 classes in July and one in August to create this masterpiece. It is a creation of Paula and Debbie from 7 Gypsies. It will take 4 classes to complete. The class starts the first Wednesday in July. Sign-up now!

Remember we are offering Kids Camp - need a few more kids to sign up.

The store hours on Canada Day will be 12-5. Summer hours go into effect in July. We will be closing at 7 PM Mon-Thur, Fri 'til 9PM, Sat 10-5, Sunday Closed.

Ciao
