Got back from my trip to Charlotte, North Carolina this week - it's a different world over there! Donna & Bill Downey put on a huge event with 6 different media artisan workshops, tons of mini workshops, a vendor-faire, product demos, social time and fun for all! Thanks Donna for a great time and loads of inspiration. I met some crazy scrapbook junkies - they are hard core! Oddly enough, I was considered a "wall flower" because I was so quiet and demur - go figure????

Some Prima Marketing product arrived.

Somerset Studios magazines shoudl be arriving.

7 Gypsies order is en route.

National Scrapbook Day - Yes. it's a real occassion!

"National Scrapbook Day" is this Saturday. To celebrate this momentus occassion, The Scrap Yard will be hosting an ALL DAY CROP at the store - 10 'til midnight. Pizza will be served at 6. There will be several SCRAP YARD GIFT CARD draws throughout the day for customer who have shopped that day. I might think of some other fun things - stay tuned!

The Advantus order came in today - AKA the Ideaology stuff of Tim Holtz and Girls Paperie collections "Kitch", "Vintage Whimsy" & "Jubilee".

Items such as: tape dispenser, 2 kinds of new tissue tape, kraft resist paper stash, crowded attic paper stash, salvage stickers for crowded attic, grunge blocks, adornments, accoutrements, nibs, tassels, light bulbs, glass vials, kraft glassine, fractured dolls, pocket watch, reinforcers

A few days ago the fabulous Pink Paislee order came in. There are 3 collections and unique embellishments for each one. "Hometown Summer", "Daily Junque" and "Butterfly Garden".

P.S. The Nakoda Retreat was a huge success. I have had time to unwind and am ready to book another one in the fall.

It's "Sprinter"..........

Hey Bloggerettes, All I can say is "it's SPRINTER" - I coin this phrase because it's "spring with a touch of winter". I wanted to let you know that the store will be open this Sunday (12-5). There are a lot of out-of-towners roaming around and I hope they stop by. There was a delightful customer, Kathy, at the store today - she was full of interesting things. She considers herself a "shoarder" - it's a hybrid shopper/hoarder of scrapbooking supplies. Don't ya love it!!! She told me about a YouTube site she belongs to where women post YouTube videos of the scrapbook stuff they bought. It's called "Haul Video". One woman even goes into her bathroom, locks the door and shoots a secret video of her daily haul. I thought that I had heard it all!

The next set of weekly classes.............

Hey Bloggerettes, I want to let you know that we will be starting another Lynn Thune "Shabby Chic" session at the beginning of May. Please call the store if you are interested in signing up. It is a 20 week commitment with a hiatus in the summer months. The size will be 6"x 8" landscape. The theme is "The Here & Now" - what's happening in your life right now. The cover will be a unique tri-fold with a thicker spine. The next "Art Journal" classes by Jennifer Chipperfield are scheduled to start in mid-May. Drop by the store to see some examples of journals done by the last class - quite amazing!

The Tim Holtz stamps are in! Distress Stains also arrived - check it out!!! Little Yellow Bicycle "Elizabeth Park" and some embellishments (the cutest ones) are on the shelf. Bella Blvd "My Boy" and "Tail Waggers and Cap Naps" arrived. Somerset magazines "Memories" and "Sampler" came in today.

So you think you're a Big Shot!

Yesterday the Ellison Big Shot machines were delivered.
