Summer is almost over.......

Hey Bloggerettes;

It's about time that we had some nice weather!!! The last few days have been perfect.
I've had a few days off and had planned to clean up my own craft room - it's full of unpacked green bags for some reason. It's kinda like Christmas when I look in them. I get that same feeling when I put away my multiple laundry baskets - I always find clothes that I forgot I had or had recently bought.

The newest product in the store is:

Bo Bunny collection called "Gypsy"
Bo Bunny vintage Christmas collection called "St. Nick"
Graphic 45 Christmas collection called "Christmas Past" and a few papers from the "Domestic Goddess" collection

Robin and I are going to work on the September Class Schedule this week. So far we have the following classes to offer:

Tim Holtz "12 Tags of Christmas" (3 tags per month for 4 months)
Basic Grey Page-of-the-Month double page layout
Basic Grey Card Class
Canvas of the Month with "Back to School" theme
"Pink & Black & Silver" Girls chipboard album
Artist Trading Card Swap
Saturday Night Crop Circle

A Few New Things........

Hey Bloggerettes,

We have received a few new products from our CHA orders already. It's kinda early - we usually don't get anything until September. I guess if the weather is going to seem like fall, we may as well get the stuff.

I discovered a new company called "Studio Calico". The pictures above are of their papers, "fabrips" and stamps. Very cool!

"Cornish Heritage Farms" background stamps and a few others came in today. They are HUGE.

Claudine Hellmuth "Studio Paints" are also in. We are backordered on about 3 colours but we have all of the others. They are such a nice consistency - kinda like whip cream! If only they smelled like caramel - YUMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Robin's ribbon order from "May Arts" is also on display - she is a ribbon freak-a-zoid. It's all very nice.

We are anxiously awaiting our order from a new vendor at CHA called "Nikki Sivils". Her collection is featured on her Facebook site. (Victoria's Secret and Cherry Pie) See pictures above.

Thanks for looki'

Prize Post............

Hey Bloggerettes,

At our retreat we had an Artist Trading Card (Robin's latest addiction) contest. Everyone was given a blank card to "do their thing" on. Not everyone knew what they were about - it was great because there weren't any preconceived ideas which made the entries very unique and original. We had independent judges and 3 cards were chosen. Congratulations to Jen - the BIG WINNER - of a bracelet hand crafted by me; Nicolette -SECOND PRIZE - a teal colored scrapbooking tote; and Sandy - THIRD PRIZE - a Tim Holtz super-duper stamp pad carrying case.

Amazing photo's...........................

Hey Bloggerettes,

These are pictures taken from my aunt's front yard in West Bank, BC of the clouds above Terrace Mountain. They are "pyro cumulus clouds" formed from the raging fires all around Kelowna. Definition: The pyrocumulonimbus cloud (pyroCb) is a type of cumulus cloud formed above a source of heat such as a wildfire and may sometimes even extinguish the fire that formed it. What takes 500 hours, 3 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 irons, 35 meters of fabric, 100 yards of thread, 5000 pins, 3 sewing machines, 1 pair of safety glasses, 1 pair of Tim Holtz scissors, one husband to be out-of-town, several take-out meals........ to construct in less than a week?????

"A picture tells a thousand words!"

This photo is of the attendees of our scrapbook retreat on July 17-19 wearing the custom made aprons that just about did us in!!!

August stuff............

Hey Bloggerettes,

Here is an update on what we're planning for August at the store.

-2 classes (max 8 each) of Tim Holtz "Patchwork Pandemonium" 12x12 grungeboard patchwork technique class done on 2 consecutive Sundays towards the end of the month.

-Christmas Card frenzy (make at least 30 cards in one day - probably a Saturday)

-one Saturday Night Crop

-is anyone interested in doing a Disney word book???

-Basic Grey "All About Me" layout (already displayed in the store)

-Canvas of the Month (Robin's creation)

Also, the 5x7 pictures from the Retreat that Diana so generously offered to provide for all the participants are at the store - ready for pick-up. Just so you know, she had them downloaded, cropped, enhanced, printed, packaged and delivered to the store on Monday morning before I even got out of bed!!!! Who let morning people run the world???? A great big thanks to Diana for being so "on-the-ball". I just have to say one more thing about the sleeping thing - you don't age when you sleep, you rejuvenate. I think I'm just reaching puberty now!

Did I mention that we received the Star Wars Kits??? I know some people were asking about them.

And the Oscar goes to......................

Hey Bloggerettes,
Our weekend retreat at the Stoney Nakoda Casino was a blast. The best thing about it was the group of ladies that attended. What a great bunch! I think everybody made some new friends, learned from each other and had quite a few laughs. The wine flowed, the chatter & laughter got louder, the scrapbooking jumped up a notch - what more could you ask for?

You can see by the pictures that everyone had on an apron (in the store colors of course). We have jumped on the latest trend of "Apron-ology". With some help from the multi-talented Maureen, we managed to custom make these aprons. The pockets were stuffed with goodies and game objects. They looked "maaaaarvelous"!

I would like to thank the following people for their assiduous efforts:
Robin (organizer extraodanaire), Brittany (worker-bee), Diane (eyes & ears of all things), Diana (early riser custodian-thank God), Maureen (on-call 24 hours/day person who can do anything) and Pat (quiet helper).

We had an Artist Trading Card (ATC) Contest over the weekend. We handed out blank cards and everyone submitted their work for independent judging on Saturday night. Congratulations to Jen who was the big winner of a custom made dangler bracelet by me. Second place was Nicolette (who doesn't even scrapbook) and third place was "Go-Getter" Sandy. Thanks to everyone who participated.
