Sometimes you just have to laugh (at yourself)

So Maureen and I decide that we are waaaay too white to go to Vegas and lie around in our bathing suits (brown fat looks way better than white fat) so we decide to get a spray tan. Wow - not sure if I want to experience that again - just too many funny things to mention here. I wanted to share a photo of myself with you all so you could laugh as much as I have been (and my family as well). Maureen and I have decided we're going to give George Hamilton a call and see if he wants to hook up with a couple of glamorous babes in Vegas!

2 MORE SLEEPS TIL PILGRIMAGE

Just 2 more night til we leave for our annual "pilgrimage" to Vegas. Two days of hardcore crafting with Teresa Collins and Basic Grey and then off to the strip to lie by the pool for some much needed R and R!

Wanted to give you a "sneak Peak" of a few of the projects that are happening in October. I don't know if anyone noticed but for once we have our classes posted and it's not even the last day of the month!!

We will be starting the "Shabby Chic Album" classes on Tuesday, October 6th and Thursday, October 8th. Tuesdays will be in the evening and Thursdays will commence at 12:30. This will be a weekly class doing layouts and your homework will be to bring in whatever size (and type) of photo is required for the next class. At some point we will schedule a weekend class to put the actual album together. We are SOOOO excited to have Lynn Thune to teach this amazing style of scrapbooking! Lori and I have signed up for this one as well. (Apparently you CAN teach old dogs new tricks) (I am, of course, referring to Lori and not me)!!

We will also have a total of 4 classes featuring Basic Grey products - a Halloween double page layout featuring "Eerie", a Mini Album featuring "Indian Summer", the monthly "All About Me Class" featuring "Indian Summer" and a card class featuring "Eerie". WE LOVE the new lines!

As many of you are aware on September 24th it will be our 2 year anniversary of opening the store. Yeah us! How fitting that we will be on a plane to one of our favorite places. We will be returning on October 2nd and we might just have something up our sleeves! We promise to keep you posted.

The week after we get back we should (FINALLY) be receiving all of the new Tim Holtz stamps that we ordered at CHA.

Enjoy the photos and we hope to do a bit of blogging while we are away!

We have PMS..................

Hey Bloggerettes;

We have "Plenty of a'Mazing Stuff" in our store right now.

The three newest lines of Basic Grey -"Eerie", "Eskimo Kisses" and "Indian Summer" are out on the floor. We received our supply of the "2010 Calendars" from Basic Grey as well. Get them while they're hot! Lots of bling and rhinestones for the seasons too.

Cosmo Cricket has a few new lines. We have "Boyfriend" - very Scrap Yardish style, and "Holly by Golly" for Christmas - cutsie.

Some of the Pink Paislee "Amber Road" and "Twilight" papers are in.

The store has been re-merchandised with all of this new product arriving. You won't be able to find your way around - poor Deb will be lost on Friday night.

See ya this weekend!

New Stuff

Oops! Forgot to let you know we got in a Prima box on Friday!!!! ALWAYS our favorite shipment! My green bag was bursting at the seams and I am struggling to find a spot in my craft room to put all of my new treasures. You're going to love it!

We are expecting Pink Paislee, Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey this week as well - it's like Christmas!!

See Ya,

Lori's BD and Tim Holtz

Hi All;

First of all, before I forget, we will be open tomorrow (Labour Day) for holiday hours (12-5).

Lori's BD was a blast! I had decorated the windows of the store with probably not the most flattering photo of Lori and signed them all with "Lorisms" before she came to work (at noonISH). I then left a stack on the counter for friends and customers to write messages on. Some are absolutely hilarious! The nastiest one (or dirtiest I guess) was actually written by my own mother (I guess I come by it honestly enough). The most decorated was from our Friday Night Girls (the #@!$%$ with Bling) - fabulous - Lori was even given the honor of being a #@$%! for the day (was there a difference)!!???

MY favorite gift that Lori got was from Purcell - a part of black blocker glasses. We can now do whatever we want AND get away with it! We had a blast with these on Friday night. WAY more photo shoots to come! Look out Vegas....here we come!

The Tim Holtz Patchwork classes have been going great. These have been a real learning curve as far as time goes. More prep is better! Irene chose not to wear the gloves we provided 'cause she apparently always packs her condoms wherever she goes (guess you never know when you might need them)! I have added photos of Kathy and Diane with their finished projects - beautiful!!

Oh BTW - went and saw the "Hangover" last night finally. That was the FUNNIEST movie I have seen in years. All day I have been remembering lines and having a chuckle!

That's it for now,
Robin

Hours until my Birthday.............

Hey Bloggerettes,

I love birthdays but not aging. If only you could get all of the cards and gifts and not have to add another year. Oh well, I hope tomorrow is fun and I don't end up going home crying!

New products at the "Yard" include:

Graphic 45 "Christmas Past" (vintage)
Tim Holtz "Distress Stickles" (all of the new colors), "Perfect Pearls" (in the 4 pack collections), "Embossing Powders" (pearls, holographic & metallics), "Grungepaper" (to make the fabulous rose)
Reminisce "Safari" line
7 Gypsies "Victoria" line and many other new products

We are back to our regular hours now. We are open 7 days a week and until 9 p.m. on the weekdays.

Thanks for lookin'.

Lori
